Wouldn’t it be great if you could go to bed every night and wake up that bit thinner the following morning? Well, the supplement manufacturing company Essential Lab claim you can do just that.
All you have to do is take one of their Abrexin tablets just before you hit the sack and the tablets are supposed to help you sleep better as well.
Other Advertised benefits include:
- Provides fat burning while you are sleeping
- Only one tablet needed each day
- Targets stubborn fat loss areas
- Stimulant-free formulation
- No side effects
Customers are told a calorie controlled diet and exercise is not necessary, but Essential Lab admits both will be required for “best results”.
How the Formulation is Supposed to Work
Abrexin is designed to encourage changes in bodily function that are similar to those that would occur after a meal has been consumed. According to Essential Lab, when customers take an Abrexin tablet it will “trick” the body into thinking a small meal has been eaten, causing it to initiate the thermogenesis process. The resulting “unnoticeable increase in body temperature” forces the body to begins burning calories throughout the night, allowing the user to “target stubborn fat areas” while they are asleep.
Essential Lab also claims research shows insufficient or poor sleep can lead to fat gain. They fail to provide any information about this “ground breaking” discovery, but point out customers need not worry about it unduly because Abrexin tablets aid restful sleep.
According to the official website, the tablets are encased in a special coating called GP Shield that protects the active ingredients from the harsh acidic digestive enzymes that are necessary to process food. This apparently prevents the ingredients from being destroyed and allows them to pass into the intestines where they can then release their active components. However, no information is provided about how the ingredients used in GP Shield are likely to achieve this and no supportive evidence is supplied.
Each tablet contains only two active ingredients
- Thermoferrin (300mg)
- Bioprine (5mg)
Thermoferrin is a proprietary blend of lactoferrin.
Lactoferrin is a protein fraction that is naturally-occurring in human breast milk and bovine milk. Levels are particularly high just after childbirth or calving. Abrexin is not the only diet product that uses the ingredient, but formulations that contain it are definitely in the minority.
According to Essential Lab, the lactoferrin provided by Thermoferrin is responsible for their formulation’s ability to help the user to lose weight. This claim is backed up by the results of two studies. One of them conducted on laboratory rats, the other on a mixed-sex human test group in Japan. Bearing in mind the possible differences between rodent and human metabolisms, the study conducted in Japan probably offers the best indication of the possible benefits lactoferrin may provide.
The study ran for eight weeks and a total of 30 obese volunteers took part. They were told to maintain their normal dietary habits and levels of exercise. Each volunteer received 300mg of lactoferrin per day, taken on the evening, and the lactoferrin was shielded from the effects of the digestive enzymes so that it could be released in the intestines. At the end of the study period the volunteers who received lactoferrin had lost significantly more visceral fat than the members of the placebo group. The researchers concluded supplementation with 300mg of lactoferrin per day had reduced “visceral fat in men and women without the need for any lifestyle change.” However, they also agreed further study is warranted.
Bioperine is a patented form of black pepper extract that provides piperine.
Piperine is the alkaloid that is responsible for black pepper’s distinctive heat and flavour. It is a popular ingredient and studies suggest it has the ability to ensure other ingredients are smoothly absorbed.
